This coffee shop is in a very sterile boring office park. Surrounded by office buildings, 1 Oz Coffee is a bit hard to find. You can't see it from the parking lots. But there is a benefit from this, when you at 1 Oz Coffee, you can't see the parking lots. It's very sheltered feeling even though its' an outdoor coffee shop. All the seating is outdoors. But the seating are is covered, and covered well with a large flat roof. The Friday afternoon we were there was a slow there, maybe because it was a little bit cold out. Often quiet coffee shops are depressing, but maybe it was the cheerful baristas, maybe it was the nicely landscaped courtyard, maybe it was the bright color scheme, but it still felt cheery even with hardly anyone about.
1 Oz Coffee serves a great smooth coffee. The staff is fun and attentive. There is a bright orange theme which looks wonderfully snappy. The orange came as a surprise to me because the 1 Oz Coffee on Castro in Mountain View has a blue theme.
The menu is simple. They only offer one size coffee, and I really like that simplicity. Those of you who want to settle in with a huge coffee to last through you morning might find this frustrating, but maybe you should just order more coffees over time.
I really like this place. It's an unusual but pleasant setting. The customer service is casual and fun. The coffee is excellent.
